| ABOUT ME: | |||
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself and express my strengths to you. I am first and foremost a storyteller. My experience working on an Emmy award winning show has developed my ability to recognize and focus story beats, character arcs, jeopardy and hangs from hours of tape. I am also a visual craftsman, having worked in promo cutting and graphic compositing. It's easy to laundry list the software I'm savvy at--the truth is, the software is merely a tool. The real talent is utilizing those tools to produce a clean, efficient, yet visually captivating cut--on a deadline. This ability, along with a gut instinct for good storytelling, is who I am as an editor. Sound design is another area I pay attention to. I feel having a strong element of sound creates a better viewing experience over leaving beats and transitions cold with silence. I am a team player; producers and show runners consistently value my collaborative nature and enthusiastic personality. It is not uncommon that I remain good friends with my producers and colleagues long after the show ends. That being said, I also work great independently, with or without a script. With a producer's mentality, I can effectively “tap” into the creative vision and keep communication trouble out of the edit bay. Thank you for your consideration. |
